Hello, My Fellow Taxpayers,
I am writing this email during a brief lull in my last-minute craziness. There are only a few days left in tax season! However, I am still be overwhelmed with calls asking about filing tax returns. My question, “When can I get your paperwork?” Many say by Friday afternoon, so I tell them, we will have to file an extension and they hang up.
Many of you that are already our clients have provided me your papers or have acknowledged that an extension has to be filed. For that, I thank you. Those of you who know me, know that I do not slack off or put off filing returns just to make $75 for an extension. I work 70-80 hours every week to get everything completed that can be completed, and I am still doing that as we speak.
That does not mean I cannot file an extension for you, your friends, co-workers, or family that are not yet part of the SFS Tax family and then file the return after the 15th.
As an FYI, I will be working off-site next week after lunchtime on Monday. I am not taking a vacation as many have asked; However, I will be working on a payroll tax case for a client. As well as several other special projects that have to get done by month’s end. The office will be open, but I will mostly be unplugged from the real world. I will not be sending or responding to emails next week.
