Patience- November 16, 2018

Hello my friends,

Patience. Weren’t we taught as a child that patience is a virtue?

I am sitting at the airport in DC (actually Virginia) waiting to head home after spending 2 days in IRSAC meetings (Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council), and all I can say is “the heck with that.”

I’ll admit that I did arrive at the airport a bit early…hotel check out was at 1PM and the weather was snowy, wet, dank, and cold. I left the hotel directly after the meetings concluded even though I could have enjoyed the comfort of my hotel room for another half hour. I decided to head out as there was so much construction around the airport, the roads were in terrible shape, and the DC drivers, well awful is an understatement.

My flight was scheduled to depart at 4:55pm. Then it was delayed until 5:25. Two minutes later, I was told of another delay until 6:05. After I got all cozy and comfortable, near a charging station, I received an email advising me of a gate change. Within a minute, the gate was changed back. Glad I hadn’t moved yet. Then in another minute, another email arrives saying that my gate is staying the same. I am not sure why the 2nd email was sent. Maybe my patience is being tested. Well…I failed!

So, here I sit, waiting for an email from Jet Blue and Reagan Airport telling how much they appreciate me and they are sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, that was a joke!!

My patience…well suffice to say, I am keeping it under a tight leash. We finally took off at 7:04.

So until next time
