Welcome to tax season, 2018.
I finally recovered from a sore back which I believe was a precursor to coming down with the flu. I was out of the office all last week and Monday, was my first day back. A little tired, but no real worse for wear. Have you seen the papers? This is the worse flu season in years, and the flu shot is not as effective as everyone thought. In the past 20 years, I braved the flu shot only once and guess what folks, I got the flu! Not a cold, but the whole bone chilling flu. I am never doing that again.
I do appreciate the emails asking how I was doing with my back problem and for those that knew I was out sick. It is very kind of you. Or as Sally Fields has said, “You like me.” Ok, enough of the mushy stuff. Time to get down to serious business.
It is tax season, and I don’t expect the IRS will be granting any delayed return filing for the flu epidemic! So, let’s make those appointments; the later you wait, the longer your refund will take. If you owe money, the sooner you know how much you have to pay the better. This gives you the opportunity to plan for the payment. If you file late, you might need to scramble at the last moment to come up with your tax payment.
Remember, we can file your return now, but you do not have to pay until April 18th. If you cannot pay the IRS what you owe, there are alternatives, which of course, your favorite Enrolled Agent, can help you with.
Not wanting to come in? You can upload your papers to our portal, email us or book an appointment in one of our offices. Appointments in RPB are limited, so call today, 772-337-1040 to reserve your time.
It is also more cost-effective to come in or book your appointment before March 15th.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. We love referrals of all sorts: business, individual, partnership, trust or estate returns. We reward those that refer us.
So until next time,
